Create and manage rounds

A round is the unit the whole weekly routine runs on: availability is collected per round, fixtures belong to a round, and a round is completed only when its matches are done.

What this does

Rounds divide a Season into playable blocks. Each round holds its own fixtures and its own availability window, which is what makes it possible to run one round at a time instead of publishing a whole season in advance.

Before you start

  • The Season is open. A closed Season is read-only, so rounds cannot be created or changed in it.
  • The roster is current — see add participants.

Steps

  1. Open the schedule

    Go to Schedule in the Competition. It lists the rounds of the current Season with their status and their fixtures. If there are none yet, the empty state offers Create first round.

  2. Create a round

    Use Create round — or New round once at least one exists — and set the Round number. Numbers must be unique inside the Season; if you reuse one, the app says so rather than silently merging two rounds.

  3. Read the round status

    The status tells you what the round is currently waiting for.

    • Open for availability — participants can still submit when they can play.
    • Availability closed — responses are final and the round is ready for scheduling.
    • Scheduled — fixtures have been accepted and published.
    • Completed — the round is finished and closed for ordinary changes.

  4. Complete the round when it is played

    Complete round closes it once every match has an official result. Completing is a deliberate act, not an automatic one, so a round with an unresolved dispute stays open until you decide it is finished.

  5. Reopen a round for a correction

    If a score was wrong or a match has to be replayed, Reopen round puts it back into a workable state, and the standings follow the corrected results. Reopen deliberately and tell the affected players — a table that changes without explanation costs you more time than the correction saved.

    Edit round changes the round itself, while Delete round removes it along with its fixtures. Delete only a round that was created by mistake, never one that has been played.

What happens next
