What this does
A Competition is the container for everything else: participants, rounds, matches, results and standings. It always starts with one Season, and later Seasons are created inside the same Competition, so the history stays together.
Before you start
- You need an account. Any signed-in organizer can create a Competition.
- Decide how participants will compete — individually, in pairs or as teams. You choose this in the wizard.
- The permanent Free plan covers one managed Competition. If you already have one and want another, see what Free includes and what Pro adds.
Steps
Open the creation wizard
From the dashboard, start Organize a competition. The wizard opens on the Structure step and shows how many steps remain, which changes with the structure you pick.
Choose the structure
Three structures are available. Single division puts every participant in one standings table for the Season. Division ladder runs several ranked Divisions with movement between Seasons. Tournament runs a knockout bracket until one winner remains. You can create other Competitions with a different structure later, so this decision is not permanent for your whole club — only for this Competition.

The structure step decides which later steps the wizard shows you.
Division ladder is a Pro feature. On Free you can still open the step and see what it does, but creating a ladder Competition requires Pro.
Name the Competition and set the participant type
Fill in Competition name — use the name players already say out loud, not an internal code. Set Participant type to match reality: a singles ladder and a doubles league behave differently once results start arriving.
Set up the first Season
The Season step asks for a Season name. Anything readable works — “Autumn 2026”, “Season 1”, “Spring block”. Rounds, matches and standings all belong to a Season, so this is the label you will see across the app for the next few months.
Review and create
The Review & create step lists the structure, the Competition, the initial Season and the participant type on one screen. Read it once. When you confirm, the Competition and its first Season are created together.
What happens next
You land on the Competition dashboard with a short setup checklist. The next task is the roster — see add participants to a Competition. After that, create the first round and start collecting availability.
Renaming, closing a Season or deleting the Competition later all live under Competition Management.
